Awkwafina
Awkwafina was an American actor and musician who made her name with smart raps that addressed gender and ethnic identities from a a boldly comic perspective. She then expanded to Hollywood. Nora Lum is the daughter of Chinese as well as Korean parents from Forest Hills Queens. The trumpet was the first instrument she played for her. After classical and Jazz training her interest in hip-hop grew when she was an teen. While in college, she took classes in writing and women's studies. She even spent some time learning Mandarin during her time in Beijing. It wasn't until after graduating that she turned her attention towards music. The year 2012 saw My Vag (as a retort to Mickey Avalon's My Dick) became an online hit, and it was featured in her debut LP Yellow Ranger. The album also featured viral hit tracks like body-positive Queef & winking home tour NYC Bitche$1. The latter song was linked directly to another project, Awkwafina's NYC Travel Guide, which was published in the year 2015. The singer decided to make acting careers following the completion of her previous two endeavors, author and musician. She has appeared in films including Neighbors 2, Storks, and Bad Rap. In the year 2018 she got a series of notable parts, including Dude Ocean 8 and Crazy Rich Asians. In June, she debuted her debut EP "In Fina We Trust".
