MadhuriMadhuri Dixit is a well-known Indian actress, best known for her roles in the films 'Beta'"Saajan," and 'Hum Aapke Hain Koun ..!' The actress began her career in the 80s and came to popularity with her role in the film 'Tezaab', where she starred alongside veteran actor Anil Kapoor. In the following film, she starred in the movie "Dil" in which she shared screen space alongside Aamir Khan. Born into a middle-class family in Mumbai, she started learning dance at an early age. She started acting as a youngster and struggled for a few years as most of her first films were flops. Then she found success and went on to become one of the leading actresses within the Indian film industry. Following her wedding she took a short time to relax from acting before returning to the entertainment field. Dixit was also an integral character in the film "Gulaab Gang," which focused on the struggle of women in India. Dixit was nominated 15 times for Filmfare Awards. Eight of these awards were hers. She also received the Padma Shri (the fourth highest civilian award in India). She is known for her work with the social sector and also for her charitable work.
